#Beach Wrestling World Series
Born where sand meets strength, the Beach Wrestling World Series draws directly from the most ancient roots of wrestling. Long before arenas and mats, wrestling was contested under open skies, on natural ground, as a test of balance, skill, and character. Beach wrestling revives that original spirit—raw, universal, and accessible—honoring a tradition that has united cultures for thousands of years. Every bout is a reminder that wrestling’s essence needs no embellishment, only respect for its origins.
At the same time, the Beach Wrestling World Series is unmistakably a product of the modern era. Set against iconic coastlines and vibrant urban beaches, it transforms competition into a global spectacle that connects elite athletes with new audiences. Its dynamic format, fast-paced action, and visual appeal make wrestling easy to follow, exciting to watch, and perfectly suited to today’s digital and media-driven world.
This balance between tradition and innovation defines the World Series’ identity. Athletes compete with the same values that have always defined wrestling—discipline, respect, courage, and fair play—while embracing new platforms, new fans, and new opportunities for growth. Beach wrestling becomes a bridge between generations, where heritage is not preserved in silence but brought to life through evolution.
Proud of its heritage and confident in its future, the Beach Wrestling World Series stands as a powerful expression of wrestling’s enduring relevance. It proves that honoring the past does not mean standing still, and that progress is strongest when it is rooted in identity. On the sand, wrestling remembers where it came from—and shows the world where it is going.

#Olympic Games - Paris 2024
The Wrestling competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games stood as a powerful showcase of excellence, tradition, and modern sporting delivery. From the opening bouts to the final medal ceremonies, the event reflected a deep respect for the sport’s Olympic heritage while embracing the highest standards of contemporary competition. Every session unfolded with precision, energy, and emotion, reinforcing wrestling’s place at the heart of the Olympic Games.
Months of careful planning and meticulous coordination translated into a seamless experience for athletes, officials, and spectators alike. Attention to detail was evident at every level—from field of play operations to athlete services, logistics, and competition flow—ensuring that the focus remained where it belongs: on performance, fairness, and the pursuit of excellence. This preparation allowed athletes to compete in an environment designed to support their best possible performance.
The response from the public was nothing short of extraordinary. Sold-out stands created an electric atmosphere throughout the competition, with knowledgeable and passionate spectators elevating every match. The energy of the crowd, combined with flawless operational delivery, transformed each session into a memorable Olympic moment, highlighting the strong connection between wrestling and the global sporting community.
Behind this success stood the dedication, leadership, and passion of hundreds of paid staff and volunteers. Their professionalism, commitment, and shared sense of purpose drove a level of delivery that matched the scale and ambition of the Olympic Games. Together, they embodied the values of teamwork and excellence, ensuring that the Wrestling competition at Paris 2024 will be remembered as a benchmark event—both on and off the mat.

#Each1Bring1 - Promoting Women in Sport
Following on from the success of the #Super8 campaign, United World Wrestling in partnership with the Portuguese Wrestling Federation launched the new campaign to bring more females to wrestling - as athletes, coaches, referees and leaders. The launch was a big success and hosted at a conference in collaboration with the Olympic Committee of Portugal, and attended by Lise Legrand (FRA) – Vice President of the French Federation, United World Wrestling Women and Sport Commission member and Olympic Medallist and Lúcás Ó’Ceallacháin – United World Wrestling Development Director, the NOC President, Congressmen, and Board Members of the Portuguese Institute of Youth and Sport.
We are asking for your help. If each of us reach out and bring 1 female to wrestling, we can make a big impact together.
Get your team mates, male and female to help. We can all play our part. You can organise anything - an open training session, a tournament or even just watching a match with your friend who has never seen wrestling.
Don't support this because it's the right thing to do, support it because it's the smart thing to do.
